Program note
Baffin Bay is part of the Arctic Ocean, between Greenland and Baffin Island. This piece for band is loosely based on a piece of the same name for laptop ensemble. In both pieces, there are eight textures that overlap at different times over slow moving harmonies. Both attempt to depict the cold, forbidding, yet fascinating world of the Arctic.
