I am not above a cheeky title on occasion. Since there are compositions 'for piano,' electronic works -- originally recorded on reel-to-reel tapes -- are often listed as written 'for tape.' The use of tape in electroacoustic music declined with the advent of computers and audio editing software, but the designation 'tape piece' persists. Although the piece itself isn't meant to be funny, but I suppose it's lighthearted overall, intended as a gentle jab at the often too-serious EA community.
