a prelude, for flexible chamber ensemble, is a study in texture. Each players' part is divided into 15-second increments, within which they are presented pitches and gestural ideas, but indeterminate rhythm. It was written for Terminus Ensemble, and can be played in any combination of four or more instruments, with optional “tape” part.
There is no score for a prelude. In the following pdf I have parts for 8 instruments. I plan to add instruments as requested. If you want to play this piece and don't see your instrument, please email me and I will make a new part for you!
Current parts (as of February 2016): C flute, Alto Sax, Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Vibraphone, Non-pitched Percussion
